WILLIAM (BILL) STEPHEN STRILAEFF 1923 2010 With sad hearts we announce the passing of William, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend on January 17, 2010. William was born on December 23rd, in Verigen, Saskatchewan where he farmed for several years. He and his wife Elaine moved to Winnipeg in 1956. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Elaine, son Craig (Michelle), daughters: Shannon (Bill), Jacquie (Sig), and grandchildren: Chelsea (Mark), Wesley, Scott (Michelle), Tanya (Mackenzie), as well as great-grandson Rylen. William was a journeyman carpenter and for many years worked for Kinew Housing. He loved to work with his hands. Throughout his life he made many beautiful pieces for his family, which they will cherish forever. William enjoyed planting his garden every year, and loved working in his garage and yard. He loved all animals, especially his furry four-legged grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing the accordion, guitar, drums, mandolin and 12 string guitar in his better days. In Dad's later years he enjoyed playing rummy with his family. William will be remembered as a thoughtful, generous and caring person who never expected anything in return. Dad, you will be truly missed. We love you so much. Cremation has taken place, and a private family interment will be held at a later date. A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Should friends so desire, donations in William's memory may be made to Alzheimer Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3C 4G2, or to a charity of your choice.
