Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS STEFANEC 1913 - 2010 Peacefully on January 26, 2010 at Holy Family Nursing Home, Nicholas Stefanec passed away at the age of 96 years. He was predeceased by his brothers: William, John, Henry, Peter and Alex, sisters: Dora, Mary, Barbara, Annie, and Tina. He leaves to mourn his passing his nephews John, Morris, Joe, and Richard of Winnipeg and Larry Diachun of Toronto, nieces Annie, Mary and Pearl, as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends. Nicholas was born in the Ukraine; he came to Canada in 1927 and joined the army in 1939. After being discharged in 1942 he became employed with the CNR where he worked and retired after 25 years of service. Nicholas was a member of the 141 Legion for 51 years. He also enjoyed gardening and watching sports. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Interment and reception to follow. Viewing will take place one hour prior to service.
