Bengt will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Kim (Alain) Cimon, Catherine (Stephen) Andersson, and his grandson Samuel Cimon who was Bengt's pride and joy. He is also survived by his brother John (Gloria) Andersson; sisters, Anna (Dave) Speiss, and Lilian Doig; brother-in-law John Mason and sister-in-law Elaine Andersson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Bengt will also be sadly missed by his companion Ginette Allard and her family. Bengt was predeceased by his wife Gillian, parents Ester and Edvin Andersson, brother Lars Andersson and brother-in-law Robert Doig. Bengt was born in Sweden and at the age of 12 he immigrated to Canada with his family. After high school he was employed by the Hudson's Bay Company for 25 years. Later he joined the Arctic Co-operatives Limited where he remained until he retired. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff who cared for him during his long, valiantly fought battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 1 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 200 Dalhousie Drive, Winnipeg with Pastor Ed Mitchler officiating. Memorial remembrance may be made in the form of a donation to a charity of your choice. It is healthy and honourable to weep at the loss of someone we love. Healthy because such passion must be released. Honourable because it is respectful to admit the importance of people who have loved and supported us... People whose footprints cannot ever be matched. Sorry for your loss. Special hello to Ginette who took Ben to Selkirk Chemo which is where I met Ben in 2007. We were "chemo-buddies" and his sense of humour was great and we had a few laughs despite the surroundings - neither of us had any respect for the big C. Rest well my buddy!
