DAVID CARL MEDER It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of David on Monday, January 25, 2010, loving husband to Cathy and amazing father to Matthew (Heidi). Dave was predeceased by his father Frank in 2003 and mother Blanche in 1999. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters, Gerri Weigle, Bobbie (Bruce) Docking; and brothers, Ross (Grace) and Eric (Tuula). Dave will also be greatly missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob (Karen) Price, Gord (Donna) Price, Bronwen (Wayne) Kozak, Hugh (Liz) Price and Glenn Price. He dearly loved all his nieces and nephews. David loved to tell them stories and tall tales and enjoyed their company tremendously. Dave hired on to the Canadian National Railway in 1974 and retired in 2007. He loved nature and animals and enjoyed his trips as engineer to Fort Francis. He loved walking, especially taking his dog Angel for walks. A private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a fund in David's name has been set up at the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9 for donations. Donations can also be made to D'Arcy's A R C (Animal Rescue Centre), 730B Century Street, Winnipeg, MB R3H 0M1. His brother Eric has also donated a wood carving in Dave's name for an upcoming online auction (WHS) with the benefits going to the Winnipeg Humane Society. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My condolences to my cousin Cathy, Ross Meder and their families for the loss of a really great guy and loving husband/father. Living in Ottawa for a long time, my wife (Micki - who knew Dave also) and I just recently heard the sad news. I often hung out with the Cote Street gang - the Meders, Stranges & Kulezas - and was in Dave's class one year. Everyone loved Dave; he was such a nice, funny and gentle guy. He was definitely 'one of the good ones'. God love him. - Posted by: Tom Price (Cathy's Cousin) on: Dec 29, 2020
