Life began for Jean on the family farm in Rossburn, MB, where she attended Mohyla School. Her work ethic started on the farm helping with the chores. Later Jean obtained a hairdressing diploma at her Uncle Nels Todd's hairdressing school and as a result, this gave her a successful hairdressing career by working, managing and ultimately operating her own beauty salon. Jean enjoyed swimming, golfing (Jean and her husband Bill belonged to the St. Charles Country Club) and vacationing. Her dress and etiquette was always impeccable and her cooking was great, however, she also loved to go out and eat. A Celebration of Jean's Life will take place at the Kildonan United Church, 187 Kilbride Ave. in Winnipeg on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., Reverend Boyd Drake officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you so wish, a donation may be made in Jean's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
