Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH MACHINSKI (nee POPIEL) 1938 - 2010 Peacefully with her family by her side, Elizabeth Machinski passed away at the age of 71 on January 29, 2010 at the Selkirk General Hospital. Liz was born in Selkirk, MB on November 15, 1938 to Harry and Stella Popiel. She grew up in East Selkirk on St. Peters Road and attended Happy Thought School. She met her husband Emil in 1957, and after a wink and a smile they married in 1958 and resided in Libau, MB for 51 years. Liz will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her husband Emil; children, Ronald (Sharon), Russell, Father Theo (Walter), Peter (Carmen) and Katherine (Michael). She was Baba to grandchildren, Lindsay, Michael, Laura, Leonne, Leanna, Lordwyne, Alyssa and Trisha; sisters, Bernice and Janet; sister-in-law Nellie and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Andy and Walter; sister-in-law Betty; brothers-in-law, John, Mike and Jerry. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, February 3, 7:00 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St. in Selkirk, MB, with a viewing at that time. A memorial service and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 4, 10:00 a.m. at the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 728 Henderson at Church Street in East Selkirk, MB by Reverend Father Peter Chorney. Lunch will follow at the East Selkirk Hall. Interment of ashes to follow at the St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Poplar Park. The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff, especially those in the dialysis unit and Dr. Fuchs for their continual care and support at the Selkirk General Hospital. May she rest with the Lord Arrangements are in care of the Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, MB 482-3271.
