STANLEY FOREMAN June 18, 1926 - January 29, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother, uncle and friend Stan Foreman on Friday, January 29, 2010 at the age of 83. Stan was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary (Maritzko); brothers Mike, John, Walter and Frank and sister Anne Wasio; also two nephews, Lawrence Jablonski and Eddy Wasio. He is survived by his last remaining sibling Jean Jablonski and his two sisters-in-law, Irene and Vie Forman; nieces and nephews Janice (Casey), Kehoe of Edmonton, Dale Duguay of Winnipeg, Darlene (Ken) Friesen of Red Deer, Ken (Lynda) Forman of Highland Glen, Harvey (Lucie) Forman of Orleans, ON, Jimmy (Audrey) Wasio, Margaret (George) Wasio of East Selkirk, Louise (Bill) Jablonski of Selkirk; niece-in-law Geri Jablonski; maternal cousins, Mary Burka, Marlene (Alan) Ganske and Doris (Craig) Maritzko as well as many great-nieces and nephews. Stan was the youngest of seven children. He was born and raised in East Selkirk and attended Happy Thought School. In his late teens, he rode the rails to Ontario to find work in the Red Lake mine. Later moving to Kenora where he worked at the Boise Cascade pulp and paper mill, until his retirement on January 1, 1986. Stan was a hardworking man. He loved to garden his famous tomatoes. He was a master at Cribbage and loved to do word puzzles. His math skills were nothing short of amazing. He was a fan of hockey and baseball. He was very well versed in current affairs. His favorite time of all was the enjoyment he got out of family visits. The family would like to thank the OPP officers, the Paramedics, the Hospital emergency staff and the homecare personnel in Kenora. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 706 Old Henderson Hwy., East Selkirk, MB, with Father Jerry Talarski officiating. Interment is to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of all the arrangements.
