JOHN PHILIP MASON (MASE) March 31, 1956 - January 29, 2010 Surrounded with the love of his family, friends (and a little Neil Diamond), John moved on from this life to join his mother, father and brother Rod. He will be sadly missed by his special G Georgette (Jessica), brother Gerry (Linda), sister Susan (Rick), sister-in-law Sandy, nieces, nephews, and so many good friends. John was proud of his Elmwood/Kelvin roots where he forged lifelong friendships playing lacrosse, hockey and football. Fishing and time spent in his garden gave him great joy. John lived life simply and on his own terms. In keeping with his wishes, a Memorial Evening Gathering will be held at the Elmwood Legion No. 9, 920 Nairn Ave., on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., to hoist a few' and share the many stories that defined our brother and friend. Special thanks to those who shared in his fight, Danny and Nan, Val, Pauline and Cathy at Concordia Oncology, as well as the St. Boniface Palliative staff for the extra care given to John. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 are appreciated.
