Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOMINIC JOSEPH BERNARD DUVAL Sadly the family of Dominic Joseph Bernard Duval announces his passing at the age of 69 on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. Dominic was born on June 17, 1940 in Spiritwood, SK to the late Ludger and Lavina Duval. Dominic moved to Selkirk, MB with his family at the age of five and attended school there. He worked at a steel mill in Selkirk and then later in Lockport, MB at Skinners Restaurant. He had a chance to belong to the Detroit Red Wings as a stick boy, but decided not to. He served as a private in the Patricia Pat's at Lower Fort Garry, MB. In 1964 he was united in marriage to Beverly Timm. Dominic also worked at the Occidental Hotel, Patricia Hotel, and the Westbrook Hotel and manager of the Westbrook Hotel (the home of country music in Manitoba) for over 11 years. He was a founding member of the Manitoba Association of Country Arts, and Dominic also ran for city council in Point Douglas, Winnipeg North for three years. In 1990 Dominic and Beverly moved to Ontario and retired on a small farm near Lake of the Woods. He will be greatly missed by his wife Beverly, sons Dale and Paul, and grandson Jessie (Sara). Family and friends will be received at the Our Lady of the Way Catholic Church, Pinewood, ON on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the Our Lady of the Way Catholic Church, Father Robert Sipe Celebrant.
