ELLA GERTRUDE WHITING (nee DEY) On January 28, 2010, our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend passed away at 90 years young. The depth of our loss cannot be measured. Predeceased by husband Frank, she will be dearly missed by her three daughters Linda (Wave), Bobbi (Roy) and Susan, grandchildren Curtis (Dianne), Melanie (Jon), Shauna (Jeff), Todd, Patrick (aka Randy), Evan (Lynn), Kristin (Jerret), and Brennen (Jennifer), great-grandchildren Megan, Melissa, Derek, Rory, Kelsey, Jessie, Nicolas, Dustin and countless friends. Born and raised in Winnipeg. During the Second World War, Mom worked for the War Department in Ottawa and met our Dad on the train. After marriage, she excelled working as a secretary in Winnipeg. She made many friends through the years with her outgoing personality. Mom was very supportive and proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Excellent cook, church organist, enjoyed her pets, music, bowling, crossword puzzles, casino, travelling and of course family visits. Thank you to HSC staff. Cremation has taken place. Flowers declined, donations can be made to The Heart Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at St. Saviour's Church, 690 Munroe Ave. at Grey Street, February 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
