LAWRENCE ALBERT KLEVEN On February 4, 2010, Lawrence Albert Kleven peacefully passed away at the Sunnybrook Veterans Hospital in Toronto. Lawrence was born on January 20, 1918 in Sprague, Manitoba to Clara and Sivert Kleven. As a young man, he helped his grandparents with the chores on the family farm. He then moved to Winnipeg where he took his formal education and started his life long career with Swifts Meats. While at Swifts, Lawrence met and married his true love, Margaret Hannes. Lawrence joined the Royal Canadian Navy where he was stationed in Halifax Nova Scotia. After serving overseas on board the H.M.C.S. Iroquois in the Second World War, he and Margaret moved to Toronto where he continued his employment with Swifts until his retirement. Lawrence will forever be lovingly remembered by his only daughter Janis, his dear granddaughter Jodi (Nick), and his grandson Cameron. He also leaves to dearly cherish his memory, his brother Oliver (Mavis), his sister Norma, and sister-in-law Anne, as well as many nieces and nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by his dear wife Margaret, son Larry, parents Clara and Sivert, brother John, and sister Evelyn. To all who knew Lawrence, we will remember him as a kind and caring man. He was a true gentleman and will be sorely missed. The Kleven Family
