CORINNE MARIAN ROBERTS September14, 1928 - January 31, 2010 Corinne passed away peacefully at home in her eighty-second year. She was the daughter of Jessie (Leslie) and Edgar Roberts. She was predeceased by sisters Margaret, Elizabeth, Phoebe, Jane and Allison and brothers Norman, Gerald, Robert, Les and James. Corinne was raised in River Heights and attended Oxford St. High School. She lived out most of her adult years in the Riverview neighbourhood. Corinne worked as a Health Care Aide at Childrens Hospital and later became a nanny for a number of the families of the doctors she had met at the hospital. It is in this capacity that Kinny entered the hearts and lives of Dr. Ray Singer, Barbara Findlay and sons Ben and Jesse. Writer Audrey Peterkin, late of Crescentwood, published a short story about Corinne's passion and energy in working with children. Corinne fully embraced her golden years: she fell in love, went off on safari to Kenya and Tanzania, swam in the surf of Hawaii, celebrated Winnipeg from a hot air balloon, wintered in Victoria and joined the computer age. Corinne was well known for her love of animals. Two of her pet turtles found permanent housing in the Amphibian House of the Winnipeg Zoo when they outgrew apartment living. Corinne followed in her father and grandfather's Mason tradition by joining the Eastern Star. She attended Churchill Park United Church and was active with the Salvation Army in earlier years. Corinne is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her sister Allison's daughter Carolyn Moore of Seattle, Washington, and several life long friends. We would like to acknowledge the wonderful care and support offered to Corinne by the 4 C Interdisciplinary Care Team at her Riverview home for this final chapter of her life. According to Corinne's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a private springtime interment in the family plot at Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery. Donations may be made in Corinne's name to The Winnipeg Humane Society. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
