GEORGE HARDER October 27, 1928 - February 7, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather, George Harder. Peacefully, on February 7, George passed away at the age of 81. George was predeceased by his parents Ann and Deitrich, son Donald and sister Evelyn. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Lena (nee Brown), sisters Helen, Susie (Henry) and Nettie (Ray), daughter Roseann (Laurie), son Larry, grandchildren Brad (Candace), Jeff (Marcy), great-grandchildren Aiden, Madison, Aimée, Kirsten and many nieces and nephews. George was born on October 27, 1928 in Rosenfeld. His father later moved the family to Winnipeg. It was here that George met and fell in love with Lena. They were married on May 24, 1947. They raised their family in Winnipeg. George worked for many years as a mechanic at Holiday Chevrolet Oldsmobile and Birchwood Pontiac. George and Lena spent many years enjoying their cottage at Twin Beaches hosting friends and family. The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses who cared for George during his brief time at Health Sciences Centre. The staff at HSC Emergency and Ward GD4 showed exceptional compassion for George and the family. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue at 11:00 a.m., across from Brookside Cemetery.
