PAUL TAYLOR October 10, 1920 February 5, 2010 It is with great sorrow that we announce that at 09:02 of February 5, 2010, Elder Paul Taylor of St. Theresa Point, Manitoba passed away at St. Boniface Hospital in the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mr. Paul Taylor was born in, Island Lake, Manitoba, to William and Maria Taylor, resided in St. Theresa Point all his adult life. He was predeceased by his wife, Annie, in 2006. He is survived by his sons and daughters, Louis and Sara Taylor, George and Evelyn Taylor, Jackson and Lena Taylor, Laurie and Mary Taylor, daughters Maggie Jane and Alex Flett, Dorothy and Robert Harper, Tamar and John Paul Manoakeesick. He is also survived by his daughters-in-law, Celine and Sara. He leaves his brothers and sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law, Thomas and Mary Jane Taylor, Abel and Bella Taylor, Billy and Maggie Jane Taylor, Theresa Harper (Johnny Harper (D), Jack and (Eliza (D) Wood, Peter and (Harriet (D) Monias, Maggie and (John (D) Taylor, Eva and (Daniel (D) McDougall, and predeceased are Jemima and Soloman Wood, Peter and Denise Harper and Mary Taylor. Predeceased children are Boniface, Donald, Norman, Frank, and Johnson. Mr. Paul Taylor is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces, and 62 grandchildren, 116 great-grandchildren and, 49 great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Paul Taylor was a very well respected member of the St. Theresa Point First Nation. During his lifetime, Mr. Taylor was a member and head of the St. Theresa Point Band Constabulary, prior to being a Councilor in 1978, and was Chief in 1979. He held the position in the Council of Elders the remainder of his productive life. Mr. Taylor's life activities included trapping, hunting, and fishing as every family man had to do for survival. Many of his talents included being a carpenter and an accomplished cabinet builder and crafted many tikinagans (cradleboards) for the babies of the community. Mr. Paul Taylor's jovial and husky laughter will be missed by all the members of St. Theresa Point First Nation. A community wake was held at the St. Theresa Point First Nation Community Hall on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the St. Theresa Point Roman Catholic Church.
