WANDA PACHAL It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and friend, Wanda Pachal on February 8, 2010 at the age of 97 years in Fred Douglas Lodge. Wanda was predeceased by her loving husband Frank T. Wiens; daughter Viola and sons Ralph and Lloyd. She is survived by her daughters Norma, Hilda (Howard) and sons Roger, Eldon and Glen (Nora). Wanda was born and raised in Steinbach, MB where she remained living in her home until the age of 92 years. She was an extremely active person, working tirelessly at raising a huge family. Mom was a generous and loving person who supported her family with patience and love. She loved the simple things in life like collecting odd-shaped rocks, picnics at Sandilands Park, berry-picking, gardening, collecting bird pennies and most of all, car-rides. She had a special place in her heart for animals and this was evident with her love for Susie. Mom also loved music, especially the organ, which she would play by ear. In mom's earlier years she loved travelling across the border visiting friends and relatives. She took comfort in her religion and firmly believed there is glorious life after death. We know that she is now sharing that life. To those who are fortunate enough to still have your mother with you, please give her a big hug and tell her you love her. Our time together is so precious. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2010 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. The casket will be open for viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. It was Wanda's express wish that no photos be taken at her service. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Fred Douglas Lodge for the excellent care given to Wanda during her time there. 843 Sherbook Street, 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca Ample parking behind the funeral home.
