JUNE MARGARET WALKER (nee MCKELLAR) June 27, 1925 - February 6, 2010 It is with great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of June Walker, beloved wife of Gordon Walker. June was born in Brandon, MB, the only child of the late Margaret (Morris) and Jack McKellar. She moved to Winnipeg at a young age and attended Greenway School and St. Mary's Academy. Some of her fondest childhood memories were the summers in Pettapiece, MB. There she played with her cousins and made lifelong friends and was always considered part of the Pettapiece family. As a young woman she worked for the Bank of Montreal and later the Hudson Bay Company. June was wonderful, kind, thoughtful and friendly to all. She never forgot a birthday or a special occasion - especially the children in her life. She was willing to help out or lend a hand and sometimes lend Gordon which was appreciated by all. June had an easy going personality, a great sense of humour and never said no to a good glass of scotch. She looked for the good in everyone she met. June was a loyal friend, always staying in touch when she and Gordon traveled to the West Coast during the Winnipeg winters. She played cards weekly with friends that she had known from childhood. Nothing made her happier than sitting on her veranda enjoying nature and visiting with friends and neighbours. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to be part of her life. June and Gordon were married more than 63 years and they were blessed with four wonderful children and five grandchildren. She is survived by Gordon, her daughters, Bonnie and Shelley (Kevin), and her sons Sandy (Susan) and Drew (Lyn), and her grandchildren Stefan, Sarah, Chase, Paige and Evan. Funeral services will be held at Thomson Funeral Home on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 BROADWAY, WINNIPEG, MB R3C OX4 783-7211 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsonfuneralchapel.com
