ALEXANDER (ALEC) ROSS With sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Alexander (Alec) on Monday, February 8, 2010 at the age of 83. He leaves to mourn his wife Vi, of nearly 60 years; daughter Norma; sons Doug (Dorothy), David (Carrie) and extended family; sister Muriel Spalding in Ontario as well as many nieces and nephews. He was a family man and his special delights were his grandchildren Lauren, Logan, Megan and Kaitlin. He enjoyed over 37 years as a Winnipeg Fire Fighter and retired as District Chief in 1987. For eight years he was proud to represent the Firefighters of Winnipeg as their Union President. He was an accomplished carpenter and built two family homes. He enjoyed traveling extensively to countries like China, Egypt, Australia, British Isles, Europe and Alaska, as well spending winters in Mesa, Portugal and Spain. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., followed by an interment and reception. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
