Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLADYS MARY CLIBBERY (nee DRABYK) October 20, 1934 - February 9, 2010 Gently embraced by her eldest daughters, Mom entered eternal peace after a lengthy illness, which she endured with incredible tenacity. Born and raised in Brightstone, MB, Gladys was the eldest of four children. She is survived by two brothers, Eddie and Leo Drabyk, and her sister, Helen Heffner, along with their respective spouses, Norma, Francis and Edward, and their children. After a brief career at the Royal Bank in Winnipeg, mom married her husband Gordon, who predeceased her in 1994. They had five children: Jean (Ray), Marlene (Wyatt), Gwen (Darcy), Pamela (Jim), and David (Diana), and subsequently six grandchildren: Ashley, Melissa (David), Carley (Nathaniel), Julian, Taylor, and Mackenzie. Mom's essence was both of a passionate and gentle heart. She loved her gardens and was one of the best cooks we'll ever know. Her grandchildren held a special place in her thoughts and prayers. Overcoming many trying times, Mom's strength always carried her through, and has left an undeniable admiration for all that she was able to accomplish. If we could imagine a heaven of our mother's choosing, it would be overflowing with flowers of unmatched beauty, rainbow hues and exquisite aromas. Many thanks to the staff and fellow residents at River Park Gardens, who showed her kindness and humour during her years spent there. A special thanks to Nancy for the TLC! Our appreciation to the staff and clergy of St. Boniface General Hospital (5E), who provided the invaluable compassion and support during her final hours. The funeral service will take place Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., at the Steinbach United Church, 541 Main Street, Steinbach, MB, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at the St. Mary's Cemetery, Beausejour, MB In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gladys may be made to a charity of your choice.
