JOSEPH BOYKO It is with great sadness that we announce the very sudden passing of Joe Boyko on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the age of 78. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Jessie, and his sister, Lorraine. He will be missed by his brother Jerry (Patricia), nephews Dan (Colleen), Tom (Kimberly), Tyrone, Larry, nieces Geraldine, Debbie (Steven), Great nieces and nephews Steven, Chris, Travis, Zsara, Savannah, T.J., Zack, Hannah and Quinn. Joe was born on April 26, 1931 in Redbury, Saskatchewan and lived there until his family moved to Winnipeg in 1942. He was employed at CNR and retired as an Engineer. Joe was an active member of several gyms in his lifetime, most recently Shapes. He was a professional wrestler in the 1950's, during which time he wrestled the likes of local legend Iron Mike Koncur. It was also during the 50's when Joe played football for the St. Vital Bulldogs of the Canadian Senior Football league. Joe always had a warm smile and firm handshake for those who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 1531 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB.
