LAWRENCE HAROLD KROCKER July 8, 1921 - February 6, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Larry Krocker, who slipped away from us on February 6 , 2010 to join his beloved sons, Ron and Larry, who predeceased him. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his dear wife, Dorothy, who shared her life with him for almost 65 years. Larry also leaves to mourn his daughter Carroll Miller (Cory), grandchildren Darrin (Betty), Darnell, Jason (Kerri), Chris, Jenny and Colin, as well as Phyllis and Bob Hermanson, Gaylord and Jenny Merkel, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many good friends who provided support to Larry and Dorothy during his lengthy illness. Larry was born in Meadows, MB and was proud of his prairie heritage. He met Dorothy, the love of his life, in Regina, SK where they were married. After trying their hand at fruit picking in Oliver, BC, Larry and his family moved to Winnipeg. For a brief time they owned a small corner store on the outskirts of Winnipeg where Larry was known for his kindness to those who were less fortunate. In 1949 he began what ended up being a long term career as a Civil Servant with the Province of Manitoba. Larry worked as an Employment Counsellor until retirement, taking great pride in his work and thoroughly enjoying the time he spent with both his colleagues and the clients with whom he worked. Larry read extensively and was a natural philosopher. He will long be remembered as a patient and insightful listener whose counsel was sought and always welcomed. His family and friends will fondly remember Larry's quiet sense of humour, as well as his love and devotion to Dorothy and his family. We would like to express our appreciation for the care provided by others while Larry was hospitalized, especially Betty and Darrin, Nadine, Darlene and people from the Faith Covenant Church. The funeral will be held on February 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Covenant Church - 1229 Windermere Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
