MINNIE (MARY) RYAN Peacefully, on February 8, 2010, Minnie passed away at Oakview Place Extendicare at the age of 93 years. Minnie was predeceased by her parents Peggy and Michael Mitruk, second husband Edward Patrick Ryan of Minnesota, sister Anne Henry and brothers Mike and Bill. She is survived by her sister Ruth Gurke of Portage la Prairie and many nieces and nephews. Minnie was born in Brandon, MB on May 7, 1916. She received her education in Brandon. Minnie married Gordon Kerr and farmed in the Treherne area for many years. Following the sale of the farm, she moved to Minneapolis in 1960 to be a nanny for the daughter of friends. Later, Minnie entered a retail career in Minneapolis and retired in 1982. In 1970 Minnie married Edward. He passed away in 1974. Minnie was a member of the Emerson Street United Church in Richfield, MN. Minnie enjoyed travelling, bowling and gardening. Because of health problems Minnie returned to Manitoba to be closer to family. She was a resident of Oakview Place for seven years. Our family wishes to thank the staff at Oakview for their excellent care. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be placed with her husband Edward at a graveside service at Catherine Cemetery, Lakeville, MN in May 2010.
