ROSE LILLIAN SHANE Sadly we announce the passing of Rose on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the age of 89. Rose was predeceased by her parents Moses and Bertha Raeve and husband Martin. She is survived by her children Ed (Nili), and Florence Zamick (Sheldon), and grandchildren Sarah, Leora, Steven and Natalie. Born March 14, 1920 in Russia, Rose came to Canada at the age of two. She attended University of Winnipeg and worked at Peretz School as a secretary. Rose and Martin were married January 11, 1953. Rose was a kind and caring person who loved to travel. She went all over Canada, the U.S., and overseas to Brazil and Israel. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with friends and family. She loved to laugh and was full of life. Funeral services were held January 19, 2010 at the Chesed Shel Emes followed by interment at the B'Nai Abraham Cemetery with Rabbi Altein officiating. Pallbearers were Hannon Bell, Frank Dahle, Ian Dimerman, Zvi Gordon, Martin Ross, and Dr. David Short. Thanks to all the doctors, nurses and health care aides at the Victoria Hospital 5th Floor, and 2nd Floor Simkin Centre. In lieu of flowers Donations can be made to the Zamick Family Fund at the Jewish Foundation or a charity of your choice.
