MARY JANET (JENNIE) SPROULE (nee LAING) Peacefully with her loving family at her side Jennie passed away at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach on February 10, 2010 at the age of 98 years. Born October 1, 1911 at Clearsprings to pioneers, William and Mary Laing, she was raised on the family farm with her four siblings. On September 26, 1934 she married Harry Sproule. Together they farmed in Giroux until Harry's death May 1, 1992. Jennie was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Laing, sister Margaret Kreutzer, sister-in-law Mabel Steel, daughter Jennie, son-in-law Lorne Bailey and great-grandson Bailey. She is survived by her daughter Shirley (Alex) Galler, daughter-in-law Lori Sproule, sons Ralph (Dianna), Reg (Jeanne), Hilton (Marilyn), Philip (Cheryl); 12 grandchildren, Howard, Todd, Colleen, Sharon, Darcy, Dean, Julie, Twila, Jamie, Rodney, Ryan and Kevin; 15 great-grandchildren; her brother Edward (Alice) Laing, sisters Isabelle Boal and Phyllis Ireland; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ridgewood Church, Hwy. 311 E., with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Clearsprings Cemetery.
