LORNA MARGARET MCCLURE Lorna Margaret McClure passed away peacefully on February 10, 2010 at East Park Manor at the age of 83 years. Nearly five years ago Lorna suffered a paralyzing stroke that robbed her of the ability to speak. Throughout those years she won the respect of all that knew her with a brave and gracious manner, as well a kind smile and warm loving eyes that would always welcome friends and family. Lorna was born on April 30, 1926 in Wilkinsberg, Pennsylvania to Marguerite (Pringle) R.N. and George Balderson Fuller P. Eng. of Arkona, ON. Later the family moved to Watford, ON where Lorna attended school until she left to attend the University of Toronto graduating as a Pharmaceutical Chemist in 1949. During a train trip home to Watford, Lorna met her future husband Mack McClure and were soon married in 1950. They have shared their love for just shy of 60 years raising twin boys David and Donald, and their daughter Anne. Over these many years they have called many places home including London and North Bay, ON, Moncton, NB until 1969 when they settled in Winnipeg. In addition to raising their family, one of Lorna's favourite pastimes was curling; belonging to clubs in whichever community they resided including Deer Lodge Curling Club in Winnipeg. When she was no longer able to participate she continued to enjoy the game on television. In quiet times Lorna enjoyed knitting, oil painting and a good book with the family dog on her lap. Lorna is survived by her husband Mack; sons David (Jan), Donald (Linda); daughter Anne (Don); granddaughters Lorna and Merrill (McClure); grandson Aaron (Allston); brothers John Fuller (Marie), Rodger Fuller (Bertha) and their families. The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the management and staff of East Park Manor for the kind, professional care and support they provided for many years. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 18 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the East Park Manor Building Fund. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
