ROBERT BRUCE SEMPLE C.D. 1919 - 2010 Peacefully after a lengthy illness, Bob passed away on February 7, 2010, at Riverview Health Centre. Survived by wife Kay, son Gavin (Jennifer), daughters, Lillian (Rene), Kitty (Jerry), son John (Penny), five grandchildren; Kristine (Michael), Philip (Brenda), Stephen (Anniina), Rob (Jen) and Lindsay, six great-grandchildren; Jacob, Andrew, Emma, Chloe, Gavin and Rhys, two nieces; Linda and Wendy and nephew Jim. Predeceased by his parents as well as his sister Betty in 2009. Bob joined the military and served during the Second World War as an aircraft mechanic. During this time Bob played in a jazz band, the Lintonaires. Bob enjoyed his work as an entomologist at the University of Manitoba. He was often known as the bug man by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. More recently he was called the butterfly man by his friends at Sturgeon Creek II. Bob had a wonderful sense of humour, was very social and articulate. He was well respected by his coworkers, neighbours and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Bob left a big imprint on us all. The family would like to thank Dr. Garcia and the nursing staff at Riverview for their care and support to our dad and us. We would also like to thank the management and staff and residents at Sturgeon Creek II for their concern and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, The Living Prairie Museum, the Canadian Wildlife Federation or a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
