ROBERTO C. MARQUESES February 9, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of Roberto announces his passing on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the age of 64 years. Roberto passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Roberto was born in Talisay, Batangas, Philippines on March 29, 1945. He was predeceased by his father Melchor, mother Vicenta, sister Matea Piol, grandchildren Jeremy, Noah, Lea and nephews Celso Piol and Teddy Marqueses. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Norma, children Ronald (Carrie), Rowena (Arturo), Rhodora (Robinson), Rezie (Andrew), grandchildren Jordan, Jarric, Jalen, Kaitlyn, Jarrel, Jenna, Janelle, sister Nelia Marqueses (Philippines), as well as numerous relatives and many, many friends. Roberto worked at Health Sciences Centre for a short time and ICE Manufacturing for over 30 years. He was a very simple, friendly, outgoing man. He had many friends of all different age groups. Many know him as Ever, Buro, Elvis and Romnick. He always knew how to make people laugh and he was always the life of the party. He loved to travel to the Philippines. He lived life to the fullest. He will be forever remembered and will be truly missed by all. The family would like to send special thanks to family and friends, Dr. Ahmed at CancerCare Manitoba and to the staff at Riverview Health Centre for the great care he received during his short stay there. Lamay will be held on Thursday, February 18 and Friday, February 19 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, Winnipeg. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 20 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 355 Andrews Street, Winnipeg. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
