GLADYS SUSAN BERG (nee ESAU) May 4, 1920 - February 11, 2010 Peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Victoria General Hospital, Gladys Berg aged 89 years, went to her eternal rest. Gladys was born near Rosthern, SK. She married Henry in 1940 and came to Manitoba where they lived in Rosenfeld, Dauphin, Winnipeg, Landmark and Morden. A fun loving, energetic mother, Gladys found time to volunteer, doing home nursing, first aid and other community support work. In retirement she and Henry shared a love of birds, baseball, hockey and music. Following his death she lived in Morden and Winnipeg where she remained involved with her family and devoted much time to knitting for several charities and hospital services. Treasured gifts of butterflies and angels decorated her door and home and will go with her. Through increasing illness and suffering Gladys' wit and sense of mischief remained strong to the end. Love that Grammy!' Gladys will be greatly mourned by daughter, Patricia Lohr of Winnipeg, son, Richard and Inez of Ottawa, ON, and former daughter-in-law, Patricia Buhr of Winnipeg. Grammy' will also greatly be missed by her grandchildren, Dorion, Julia, Rachel and Joshua, and a large extended family and many friends, young and old.
