DARIA RUTKA Beloved Aunt, sister-in-law, and friend who passed away February 14, 2010. Daria Rutka passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the age of 99 years at the Vita Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and by their families, her sister-in-law Rose Rutka and numerous friends and neighbors. Daria was born in Arbakka, Manitoba on February 11, 1911. She married Nick Rutka in 1937 and they farmed for several years in Arbakka. They then moved to Carrick Manitoba and continued farming until 1966 when they moved to Vita. Nick passed away in 1976 and Daria continued living in her home until October 2010 when she went to the Vita Hospital. In December she was transferred to the Personal Care Home and resided there until her passing. Daria was predeceased by her husband Nick, sister Wasylka Panchuck, brothers John, Nick, Matt, George and Mike, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Prayers will be said on Thursday, February, 18, 2010 7:00 p.m. at Vita Funeral Home, Vita, Manitoba. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Vita, Manitoba with burial at Sts.
