Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE SHEAD On February 16, 2010, George a man of love, patience and gentleness; a man who was greatly loved by his family and his friends passed away. He will be missed so much by his loving wife Janet, daughter Lori (Jim Taylor), son-in-law Darren Carson-Walton (Sheila), grandchildren Kory (Denise), Janna, Kyle and Lisa (Chris), great-grandchildren, Lita, Heidi and Sara, and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. George was predeceased by his mother and father Lillian and George Shead, sister Betty, daughter Robyn, three brothers-in-law and three nephews. He will be missed for his sense of humour and his love. George was born July 30, 1929 in Selkirk, Manitoba. He spoke fondly of his youth in Selkirk, working at his father's store, getting his driver's license at age 14 and the many friends that were part of his life. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1963. George had a long career with Shell Oil, retiring in 1988 after 32 years. In retirement George and Janet enjoyed eight happy winter in Rockport, Texas with their dog Tippy, starting out each fall with their 30 foot trailer and returning in the spring to their Horsefly Ranch in Sandilands. A special thanks to the firefighters / paramedics and Chaplain John for all their help and support. He was always there for family, and will always be in their hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. No service by request. Cremation has taken place.
