John passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Oakville, Ontario where he resided for the past three years. John, in his 88th year, has joined his beloved wife Edna Margaret (nee Pinfold). John will always be remembered by everyone as a real Gentleman . He was always there for his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all. John was mentioned in dispatches and was awarded the Member of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in recognition of his service during the Second World War. John was a proud member of the Masonic Order for over 60 years and belonged to the Beaver Lodge 139 in the Grand Lodge of Manitoba. John had a very successful and fulfilling career with the Ford Motor Company of Canada which gave them the opportunity to live from coast to coast touching many lives. Surviving are his dear sister-in-law Shirley May Morrow and her husband Bruce of Burlington, six nephews and three nieces and their families. A private graveside service will be held in April, 2010 and he will be laid to rest beside his wife Edna Margaret at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario. The family wishes to express their gratitude to all the staff of Sunrise of Oakville for their care and compassion shown towards John.
