INA DYREGROV It is with much sadness the family of Ina announce her sudden passing on Monday, February 15, 2010. Left to cherish her memory and outgoing spirit are her nephew Brett, wife Sabine and daughters Nicole and Morgan, niece Kristin and her son Cole, brother Al, sister-in-law Heather and numerous relatives in Norway. She was predeceased by her father Ole in 1976 and mother Olga in 1991. Ina was born in Winnipeg and attended school in the West End. Following her school years, she worked briefly at Eaton's before spending many years with the firms of Moran, Fenton and Co. and Smith, Vincent and Co. until her retirement in 2000. She will be remembered there for her kindness, loyalty and infectious laugh. Ina thoroughly enjoyed the many lasting friendships she made in her business setting. Ina was a very private person but enjoyed life to the fullest. Many family occasions were spent at the family home on Riverwood Avenue and at Brereton Lake in the Whiteshell. She was a wonderful hostess and made this family time memorable. Through the years skiing was very dominant in her life and a ski cottage was purchased at LaRiviere. The past many years she and her friend Merlene Netterfield spent many hours there skiing or watching the activity on the hill. Ina's wish was to watch the Olympic skiing there this past weekend. Summers were spent at her beloved cottage at the lake. The happiest times for her were the times when her nieces and nephew were able to spend there with her either skiing, swimming or boating. The rest of the family were invited as well but we all knew that it was really the kids she enjoyed the most. She made their times there very special. The Barratt family were also a big part of her life at the lake and were a tremendous help to her these past few years. Ina had a special friend in Merlene Netterfield and became an integral part of her family. She also belonged to two special groups of friends: skiers from both Winnipeg and LaRiviere, with special mention of Ed Champagne of Ottawa, and a Winnipeg Winter Club aquafit class. They enjoyed getting together to celebrate many birthdays and Christmases and Ina often regaled everyone with stories of her skiing escapades and travel experiences in various parts of the world. The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to her dear friends, Merlene Netterfield and Jean Barratt, for their kindness and caring. Also to the staff and her friends at The Waverly where Ina lived for the past year. Ina's positive spirit, generosity and unassuming manner was to be envied. She will be remembered always and greatly missed by all who knew her. In accordance with Ina's wishes cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private celebration of Ina's life will be held at a later date.
