FEDERICO (FRED) GENGCO GALANG It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Federico Galang on February 15, 2010, at the age of 59. He was predeceased by his grandmother Osay, his parents Antero and Consolacion and brother Gaudencio. Left to mourn are his daughters Mary Alexandra and Amanda. His brothers and their wives: Mike (Carmen) of British Columbia, Ben (Rufina), Mario (Cecil), Chris (Marie), all of Winnipeg, Ate Dorie and family of San Francisco, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Federico had several jobs, which included working for the Federal Government, Manitoba Hydro, and Midwest Diamond Drilling where he set up their First Aid station and at which he worked as a First Aid Instructor. He was forced to retire from the Department of Veteran's Affairs due to ill health. He was passionate about creating beauty through his gardening, his paintings, and also with his voice. He enjoyed cooking for his family, fishing, singing, dancing and also volunteering for the firefighters. Above all, he had an incredible ability to make people laugh and always brought great laughter to all who was around him. He will be remembered for his impeccable sense of style and his articulate way of speaking and writing. His daughters shall forever keep his love and wisdom within their hearts, will always feel the warmth he gave them with his love and understanding, will feel pride in his accomplishments and will always feel lucky to have had him as their Papa. A special thanks to Ate Cherry, we shall forever be thankful for all she has done to take loving care of Federico over the years. Lamay will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 Midnight.
