NAOMI GLYNNIS BIRD January 26, 1956 - February 16, 2010 Naomi was granted her angel wings on February 16, 2010 after a long hard battle with a terminal illness. She put up a good fight against cancer, right up to her last moments on earth. Naomi had a heart of gold and throughout her lifetime had touched many lives in one way or another. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. She gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Naomi is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jack; daughters Tanis (Jory, Dylan, Tristan), Amber Dawn (Eric, Jayden, Destin); son Duane (Andrea, Téa, Trinity); mother Helen Henrickson (Earle); sister Camille Lewis (Tom, Aimee, Jordan, Mallory) and brother Todd Stranger. She was predeceased by her father Lawrence McManus; Uncle Myles McManus and in-laws Charlie and Annie Bird. Naomi leaves to mourn her precious dogs, Cuddles, Cookie and Chewy; lifelong friends Shawna Motkaluk and Lila Michaud; many close relatives including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws from the Bird and Stranger families. A celebration of Naomi's life will be held at Gilbart Funeral Home on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ray Settee officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dean Bird, Clayton Bird, Vernon Bird, Darryl Bird, BJ Bird, Ian Adams, Kevin Palmer and Kelly Motkaluk. Special Thanks to Ashley and Barb Martyniw, Lyla and Merle Bird, Sharon McManus and Shirley Ditchfield for their on-going care, support and spiritual guidance. Candice from Home Care, the staff at the Selkirk and District General Hospital and Rose Leach for providing all flower arrangements. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements
