BARBARA JOHNSTON (nee URAVITCH) Peacefully at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg on February 17, 2010, Barbara Johnston, beloved wife of the late James Johnston. Rumour has it that Barb found out that Heaven had just installed VLT's and she simply had to join her recently departed sister, Gertrude, to sample the new machines! Predeceased by her sisters Rose, Anne, Mary, Bertha, Gertrude and Velma, and brothers Joe, Rudy, and Frank. Barbara leaves to mourn her brother-in-law Dr. Keith Johnston (Denise) and nieces Shelley Colvin (Brian), Noreen Davis (Tim), Donna Osteraas (Dave) - all of the Twin Cities, MN, and Irene Morris (Frank) of St. Mary's, ON; and nephews Frank (Nevena) of New Zealand, Don Manych (Lee) of The Pas, MB, George Kucy (Nancy) of Phoenix, AZ, Ron Bremner (Gail) of King City, ON and Ron Bowes (Carol) of Selkirk, MB. Barb loved life, her friends, her family, shopping at Polo Park and her home. She was an avid traveller and someone who was always up' for a good time, a good laugh, a good visit and a good lunch. Barb treasured her wonderful memories of her 48 year marriage to her late husband Jim and cherished her association with her beloved and extensive RCMP family, who all meant so much to her. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful support and assistance of Barbara's dear friends Adrian and Maylene Cancilla, Edna and Rudy Dahl, Betty and Ray Johnson and Sean Kells. Barbara was most grateful for the help of Dr. Mallon of the Manitoba Clinic.
