Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUDITH LYNNE WHITEWAY (nee JACKSON) March 10, 1954 - February 8, 2010 Peacefully at home at the age of 55, Judy passed away with her husband at her side after a long battle with cancer. Judy was born in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Ontario and lived there until graduating from Lakehead University in 1977. Judy and family moved to Dominion City, Manitoba for ten years before moving to Morden, Manitoba for 20 years. In August 2007, Judy and Bill moved to Pebble Beach, near Arnes, Manitoba. Judy was predeceased by her parents, Ron and Jean Jackson, and her niece Carrie Ann Huovinen. Judy will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 35 years Bill, her son Brian, her daughter Erin, her sister Ginny Huovinen (Jarmo), sister Janice Redden (Terry), brother-in-law Robert Whiteway (Margaret), nieces Heather, Joanne, Morgan, Kaylah, and Talia, nephews Chris, Stephen, Jesse, and David, and her Aunt Mary, along with many cousins. Judy has taught in Manitoba for 25 plus years, in the communities of Dominion City, Roseau River Reserve, Morden and most recently Gimli. A recent tribute from a former student includes.... I always wanted to tell you how much you meant to me when I was growing up.... until now. You were a great role model. I always have wanted to be just like you... as a teacher and a person. I remember your endless energy, your kindness to others. When you enter a room it always gets brighter. I know you probably don't have the energy you once had, but I know your spirit has not changed. And you are so strong...I am so proud of you. A private family funeral was held on February 13, 2010 at the Pavilion in Assiniboine Park. Our family would like to thank the doctors, hospital staff, the pharmacists, and the fantastic home care workers who helped Judy. Doyle's Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
