Remaining to forever cherish Irene's memory are her five children, Susan (Ben), John (Signy), Thomas (Heather), William (Glenna) and James (Elizabeth); eleven grand-children, Jeremy, Stephanie, Andrew, Leif, David, Robin, Bronwyn, Ian, Ryan, Michael and Skye and two nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Thomas George and her husband, William John (Bill) Cormack. Mom was born on December 3, 1922 to May and Jack George of Kenora, Ontario. She was a courageous woman, who met life's challenges head on. She enjoyed entertaining and her garden. Mom was active in her church. She was a good friend to people of all ages and a good neighbour. To the end she directed her own life. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family. Mom was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion - Fort Rouge Branch. Irene's funeral service will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 45 Dalhousie Drive, Winnipeg on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. There will be a private family interment. The family would like to thank Dr. M. Cameron, Dr. B. MacDougall, her Home Care staff, and the staff of St. Boniface Hospital for the excellent care that she received over a number of years. A very special thanks to Morrie and Mae Snider, her wonderful neighbours. Flowers are gratefully declined.
