MARY PETRO (NOWOSAD) April 21, 1916 - February 20, 2010 Peacefully after a short illness, Mary passed away on February 20, 2010 at the River East Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her husband Paul (Chester), mother Pearl, father Samuel, sisters Annie and Katie, brothers John and Harry. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews and their families. Mary served with the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, and also worked for Macdonald Bros. Aircraft Ltd. repairing planes during the war. Later she worked at the King George Hospital, The Waffle Shop and Martin Robinson Date Company. Mary loved camping and fishing with her husband, especially at Great Falls, MB. She had many hobbies including gardening, reading, bingo, and especially shopping. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Hawaii and Jamaica and many parts of Canada and the United States. The family would like to thank the many caring and devoted workers at the River East Personal Care Home, who loved and cared for her. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to service, interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, the MB Chapter, 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2H 1J9. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
