JOHN J. ROBITAILLE (PAPA) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John Robitaille on February 22, 2010, at the age of 86 years. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Aimee, his children Larry (Lise), John (Melodie), Maureen (Doug), Cheryl (Darrell), and his grandchildren Chantal, Scott, Paul, Krystal, Kyle, Tyler, Hayley and Selena, his sister Madeline and sister-in-law Shirley and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Brian. Dad was born and raised in St. Boniface, where he resided all his life. After serving in the Air Force during the Second World War, Dad returned home to work with his Dad at the Tache Service Station. He then established St. Boniface Messenger where he continued to do what he loved best - fixing vehicles. Dad could be found many nights at the shop working on one of his many friends' cars. Dad was an active member of the Rotary Club, Holy Cross Credit Union, Church and Manor. It is there where he made many lifelong friendships. Along with the love of his life, Aimee, they raised five wonderful children and they shared 61 happy years together. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald. Interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of the Victoria Hospital, Dr. Seftel of CancerCare and Dr. Slutchuk. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to CancerCare of Manitoba, 691 Wolseley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3G 1C3, in Dad's memory.
