Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM EARL KITCHING August 1, 1918 - March 2, 2010 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Earl Kitching at the Selkirk Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife Eileen, their family Lynne Kitching (Rick Thomas) and daughter Terri (Daryl) Anderson, Kyle, Jeremy and Josh; Bill (Judy) Kitching and sons Neil and Adam; Janet (Larry) Houndle and sons Derek and Brent; Kathryn (Brian) Jack and children Megan, Colin and Blaine. He also leaves his brothers Ted (Lorene), Ralph (Ruthan); sisters Pearl Cooper and Bernice (Archie) Gill; brothers-in-law George McAdam and Tom Smears and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Harold (in infancy), Allan, Oliver, sisters Opal Scott and Linda McAdam. Earl grew up in Roland, Manitoba, part of a large family that worked and played hard. He signed up in March 1941 with the Fort Garry Horse 10th Armoured Division. He served overseas until the end of the Second World War. Earl and Eileen cattle farmed in the Harperville-Inwood area. During retirement they resided in Inwood, Teulon and Stonewall. Earl enjoyed sports, horseshoes, being a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, gardening, family and friends. Family would like to thank the staff of the Red River Care Home for their kindness and care during Earl's stay. Funeral service is Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, Manitoba. A private family interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Roland, Manitoba at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stonewall Legion.
