Date of Passing: Mar 01, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHANIE DOUGLAS (nee PARADA) Looking good at 98! Mom passed away peacefully in her home March 01, 2010 with her family lovingly around her. Mom was predeceased by her husband, George, her parents Catherine and Paul, five sisters and six brothers. Mom is survived by her three children Ron (Jean), Sherril, Darlene (Tom), four grandchildren Colin, Leigh, Christopher and Andrew, and numerous nieces and nephews. Born January 8, 1912 on the family farm in Arborg (Ledwyn), Manitoba. Mom lived for her family, always there for them, no matter what. She loved nature, especially time at Lac du Bonnet, enjoyed long walks with sister, Sophie, under a full moon. She was passionate about picking berries and mushrooms, making perogies, apple pies, dill pickles, and potato pancakes which were the best. Also, planting and growing flowers and vegetables in her huge garden which she gladly shared with everyone. Mom had wonderful friends at the lake and at home, past and present. Special friends, JoAnn Pringle who brought homemade goodies to her which Mom so loved and JoAnn's late husband, Bill, who kindly took her berry picking, cut the grass, and shovelled snow. The family appreciates all their support and kindness. Mom's answer to longevity was hard work, eating fresh vegetables, long walks, generosity and a loving family. Many thanks to Dr. Coodin and Linda for their care and kindness. Also, to Palliative and Homecare staff for their care and compassion, ALL YOU GIRLS ROCK! Cremation has taken place. No flowers, please. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. THANKS, MOM, FOR EVERTHING Neil Bardal Inc. (204) 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca A favourite quote Mom liked:
