WARREN DIETRICH REESE With great sadness and love, the family of Warren Dietrich Reese announce his passing on February 21, 2010. He is at peace. Determined to live life on his own terms, Warren's unique sense of humour and adventurous spirit unfailingly shone through even in times of anguish. Born in Boissevain on September 11, 1957, Warren grew up with strong family bonds and a love of the outdoors. Some of his happiest moments were spent fishing, trapping and building roaring campfires that became a highlight of every family camping trip. Warren moved to Winnipeg as a young man. He led a full life, meeting all its challenges undeterred by his circumstances. Warren and his wife, Marsha, enjoyed many years together, tending to their cats and balcony garden until it was time to go their separate ways. He volunteered countless hours and touched many hearts with his easy smile and willingness to chat. He was a teacher - Dr. Warren - sharing his wealth of knowledge with professionals and public alike. Warren took great joy in participating in family gatherings and his presence will be missed by Marsha and his siblings: Michael and Norma Reese; Linda and Roger Buchanan; Owen and Susan Reese; Ed and April Reese; Ron Reese; Karla Reese and Rod Fidler. Also left to mourn his passing are nieces and nephews: Jessica, Neil, Aaron, Devon, Benjamin, Heather, Braden and Kole as well as his many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by parents Elmer and Olive Reese. Warren leaves a legacy of extraordinary courage and determination for all to embrace... a flight of stairs is not an obstacle but a challenge to overcome . A memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Riverview Health Center, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg on Saturday, March 27 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities or Riverview Health Centre.
