JOAN ALLARD It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joan Allard on March 6, 2010, at age 88. Joan was predeceased by her husband Charles (2004), son Patrick (1991), daughter-in-law Roxanne, grandson Sean, sister Vera. Joan was a loving mother to four sons: Paul (Karen) Calgary, AB; Peter (Vicky) Winnipeg, MB; Perry (Sylvia) Dropmore, MB; Patrick; two daughters, Charlaine of Winnipeg, MB, Debbie of Calgary, AB. Beloved grandmother to Steve (Laurie), Scott (Sharon), Sandy (Tasha), Kim (Darren), Jay (Michelle), Sherry, Perry Jr. (Megan), Shannon, Sherri (Bill), Corinna, Chrystal (Brent), Shyla (Graham), Rachel (Karl); and 27 great-grandchildren. Born April 30, 1921, in Coventry, Wharwickshire, England. Mom enlisted in the army in London, England 1942 as a Radar operator. While stationed in London, Mom met and married Charles Paul Allard (62 years). In 1945 Mom came to Canada as a young war bride and settled in East Coulee Alberta. Charles and Joan moved with the military and finally settled in Winnipeg. She was an avid knitter and loved to read. She had a passion for garage sales; she always said the fun was in the hunt , loved doing crossword puzzles, watching Coronation Street and Jeopardy. Joan and Charles spent many happy summers at Lakeside Trailer Park at Winnipeg Beach. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Victoria Hospital and Deer Lodge for their gentle kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. At Joan's request no formal service will be held. We invite family and friends to join us for a Celebration of Joan's life at Kim and Darren's home at 60 Halparin Drive in Winnipeg, MB on Wednesday, March 10 between 1 and 4 p.m.
