CHRISTOPHER WILFRED WREGGITT August 21, 1915 - March 4, 2010 Chris passed away peacefully on the morning of March 4th, 2010 at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba He is survived by his only son, Russell A. Wreggitt and Russ' spouse Rejeanne M. Chartrand. His loss is also mourned by nephew Jack (Anne) Wreggitt, his niece, Frances (Walter) Beadows, niece Mary Wreggitt and nephew Russ (Margaret) Wreggitt of Comox, B.C. Chris was predeceased by his loving wife Florence (Gini); his parents, Robert Carr Wreggitt and Frances Thornton Wreggitt; as well as brothers, Robert, Charles; and sister Lillian. Chris was a highly intelligent man who lived his life at peace by taking pleasure in the simpler things in life. He felt most comfortable with a dog around, be it his own, or babysitting' one of Russ'. Chris was a great lover of animals and a staunch supporter of the Humane Society as well as other causes based on protecting the less fortunate. His interests included chess, coin collecting and model railroading. He relished every moment that he was able to spend at his cottage in Lester Beach. Born in Winnipeg, Chris served Canada Post for 38 years until his retirement in 1975. A pillar of strength and an inspiration to all, Chris will be sadly missed by family, and friends including and especially the furry ones. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for their care and consideration of Chris in his final days. A special thanks to the staff at Chapel Lawn for their help and guidance in a delicate time. A graveside service will be held at Chapel Lawn on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
