THOMAS HAROLD ERNEST HAMBLIN Peacefully, surrounded by family, our much loved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Tom, passed away on March 8, 2010 at the Morris Hospital at the age of 94. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Barbara (Ron) Landry, Patricia (Curtis) Evenson, Elaine (Ken) Johnson, and Robert (Arlene) Hamblin; his grandchildren Gregory (Lisa) and Erin Landry; Craig (Mandy), Nancy (Christian), Leanne (David), and Shelley Evenson; Carolyn (Brian) and Alan Johnson; Jeffrey (Heather) and Laurie (Karl) Hamblin; Josh Matthes; and his great-grandchildren Molly, Zach, Evan, Jax, and Katie. He is also survived by his sister, Irene Calder. Tom was predeceased by his beloved wife, Kathleen; his brothers, Edward and Lloyd; and his sister Winnifred Nisely. Tom was born in Woodmore, later moving to Greenridge and then in his late teens to St. Jean. He married Kathleen Knowles on July 1, 1946, and they were blessed with over 57 years together. Family and farming were Tom's passions. Tom retired from farming in 1976 after a heart attack and then continued to help on the farm into his 90s. The family wish to extend special thanks to the nursing staff at the Morris Hospital for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held in celebration of Tom's life at 2:00 p.m. at the Morris United Church on Friday, March 12, 2010. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to Red River Valley Palliative Care or a charity of your choice. A father considers his wealth not in possessions, but in the happiness of his family.
