Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH NESTOR Peacefully, on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer, Joseph Nestor, Husband, Father, and Gigi, passed away surrounded in the love of his family. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 45 years Joan; his children Ted; Julia of Columbus, Ohio; Patricia (Erling) of Billings, Montana; and precious grandchildren Simon, Natalka and Joe. He was predeceased by his parents Theodore and Katherina; sister Julia; and brother John. Joseph was born on November 26, 1931 in District Jaroslaw of Western Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1958. Joseph was happily employed for many years at CN Rail and retired in 1994. Throughout his life, his hobbies included gardening and landscaping which he was able to enjoy well into his retirement. Joseph was a skilled handyman who could wear many different hats including those of mechanic, carpenter and electrician. Joseph was also a long time Winnipeg Blue Bombers fan and was extremely proud of his Ukrainian heritage. He loved animals and especially cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. Joseph had an amazing sense of humor and will be remembered as a man who showed great strength and kindness throughout his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Our family wishes to acknowledge the efforts of Dr. Joel Gingerich and his nurse Cheryl at CancerCare Manitoba. And much thanks to the nurses and support staff on GA4 at Health Sciences Centre for your hard work and compassion. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church corner of Watt St. and Munroe Ave. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to charity of ones choice. We love you Gigi! You are a sweetheart! - Simon, Natalka and Joe VICHNAYA PAMYAT
