MARIE-ANGE GAGNON (nee COURCELLES) Peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, Marie-Ange Gagnon aged 87 years, passed away at Foyer Valade in St. Vital. Marie-Ange will be lovingly remembered by her six children, Marcel (Pauline), Lorraine Ashdown (Richard), Norbert (Tanya), Laurent (Mariette), Réal (Edith), Fernande Desjarlais (Al), 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Marie-Ange is also survived by two sisters, Thérèse Berthelette, Agathe Landry and brother Henri Courcelles. Marie-Ange was born on November 5, 1922, and raised on the family farm in Otterburne, MB. Mom married Antonio Gagnon on September 24, 1946 in Aubigny and started their new life on a farm near Ste. Elizabeth where they raised their own family and learned every aspect of farm life. Mom was a master at baking, gardening, and canning just about anything edible you could imagine. You could probably say that was her hobby! Early retirement brought them to St. Malo and golden years in St. Norbert. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint-Norbert Roman Catholic Church, 80 St. Pierre Street, with Father Londono presiding. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. A special thank-you to the staff at Unité Marguerite, Foyer Valade for the loving and tender care given to our mother during her last three years of her life.
