Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOUISE KLETKE Surrounded by her family our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went Home on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Mom was born in Winnipeg on July 15, 1923. She was predeceased by her husband Bill and infant daughter Lisa. She is survived by four children: Karen (Garth) Palanuk, Janis (Randie) Kushnier, Bill (Shannon) Kletke, Greg (Carmen) Kletke, seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Melanie, Kyle, Amber, Trevor, Wesley, Tanya and ten great-grandchildren. Church was an important part of Mom's life. She and Dad met at Luther League and were married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. They were among a small group that founded the Grace Lutheran Church Seniors group 25 years ago. Mom enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. She took great pleasure in making and assembling layettes for Canadian Lutheran World Relief. Mom formed a lasting bond with her sewing circle girlfriends for over 50 years; meeting in each other's homes they shared their lives while mending and sewing. Mom was famous for her beautiful knitting and sewing. Family and friends were recipients of her creations. Opening the door to Mom and Dad's home to the aroma of fresh bread, donuts, cinnamon buns and kuchen is a cherished memory for us children. After Dad's passing Mom moved to Kildonan House. She lived there for six and one half years forming new friendships and participating in the many activities. Mom's desire to live and watch her family grow was strong; she overcame many health obstacles to be as strong as she could for us. Rest in peace Mom - your legacy of love is in all of us. A family interment will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. The memorial service will take place at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Rather than flowers, a donation can be made in Mom's memory to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3 or to Doctors Without Borders, MSF Canada, 402 - 720 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, ON M5S 2T9.
