Betty returned to Dauphin with her own family and spent many happy years there before moving back to Winnipeg in 1982. Betty was a devoted mother to her three children and was very proud of their accomplishments. She enjoyed working at Birks in St. Vital Centre, where she developed life-long friendships with her co-workers. She was also an active member of her church. Betty was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at a young age and, despite the many challenges the disease brought her, she managed to always have a sunny disposition and positive spirit and enjoyed the simple things in life. Betty loved collecting antiques and precious treasures from her stores and never passed up an opportunity to go shopping. In her final years, Betty moved in with her sister, Corrinne, and her family, who provided her with excellent care and a loving family environment. Heartfelt thanks to Corrinne, John and their family as well as the caregivers that helped Betty maintain her dignity.
