Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE LOWEN October 18, 1917 - March 6, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Irene Lowen. She is survived by her daughter Faye Ennis, son Terry Lowen, sister Mildred Cudmore, grandchildren Sandra (Kelly) Bergman, Glenda (Vic) Falkowski, Curtiss Lowen, great-grandchildren Kara Falkowski, and Kiana Bergman. Irene was also predeceased by her husband Herb, parents August and Helen, sister Lovina Follett, brothers Leslie and Leonard Mackay, and son-in-law Mervin Ennis. Mom was born in Winkler, MB to August and Helen Mackay on October 18, 1917. She married the love of her life Herb Lowen in 1934. At the time of Dad's passing they had been married for 64 years. As a couple they enjoyed numerous trips to Hawaii and Arizona in the winter months. Mom curled at the St. Vital curling club for many years, but her primary interests were her family and her home. She stayed in her home up until a year ago, when she moved to the Golden Links Lodge. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal service. Special thanks to the staff of Golden Links Lodge for their great care of our mom. In memory of Mom, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
