AGNES JOSEPHINE NICHOL (nee GAUTHIER) On March 12, 2010, after a life well lived and surrounded by loved ones, Agnes Nichol passed away at the age of 82 after a short battle with cancer. She was predeceased by daughter Carol; parents, Blanche and Arthur Gauthier; brother Armand; sister Therese Riddolls; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl, Albert, Ken, Audrey and Helga. Left to cherish her memory are husband Cliff; daughters, Diane (Bill), Judy (Al), Susan (Brian); grandchildren, Meghan, Matthew, Heather, Elizabeth, Lindsay, Emily, Keith and Kaitlin; and sister Yvette Dean. She will also be missed by her extended family and many friends. Agnes grew up in Lorette and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 18. Her first job was at Eaton's Mail Order where she met her future husband, Cliff. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage and had many wonderful adventures. In their early years they took many camping trips throughout Western Canada and during their retirement enjoyed travelling to Great Britain, Hawaii, Alaska, Newfoundland and many other destinations in Canada and the U.S. Agnes' biggest joy was getting together with family and friends. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. She made many new friends while travelling and through her involvement with the Eaton's Retirement Club and always made an effort to keep in touch. Agnes' family would like to thank all the thoughtful and supportive staff at St. Boniface Hospital, especially the staff on 6A South for their care and compassion. A celebration of Agnes' life will be held on Friday, March 19, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9. Cliff, I am so sorry that Agnes is no longer with us. I do however have many happy memories of "when we were young". I have many regrets about not keeping in touch throughout the years but you and Agnes were often in my mind . - Posted by: Mary Lagimodiere(Hepner) (Family) on: Mar 15, 2010
